Dewatering runs on both sides of the pump
Dewatering — clearing water from a site — is recorded work for this range on both sides of the pump. The layflat family's recorded applications include irrigation, drainage and pumping; the suction family's recorded applications are headed by construction sites. Between those two records sits the whole specification problem of a dewatering pairing: the intake run must not collapse under the pump's pull, the delivery run must move volume without bursting, and the two must meet at couplings that fit both. State both sides in one enquiry, so the quotation answers for the pairing.
The two halves, on their published figures
Intake: corrugated-wall suction hose. The PVC suction hose is the intake construction — smooth flexible inner wall inside a corrugated outer wall. Its published family data: bores 3/4 in to 8 in (suction family range; the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation), working pressure 3 to 8 bar across the family (suction family range; the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation), coils of 10 m to 30 m (suction family range; the lengths offered for your bore are confirmed in the quotation), minimum order 100 m (suction family figure; the minimum for your bore and build is confirmed in the quotation). State the pump's inlet size, the lift and the run in the enquiry, and ask for the intake bore and length to be confirmed against them.
Delivery: layflat hose. The PVC layflat hose carries the discharge side: bores 3/4 in to 16 in (layflat family range; the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation), working pressure 2 to 10 bar (layflat family range; the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation) and burst pressure 6 to 30 bar across the family (layflat family range; the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation), rolls of 30 m to 100 m (layflat family range; the lengths offered for your bore are confirmed in the quotation), blue as the standard colour. For both families the same framing applies — these are family ranges spanning their bores, and the rating at your bore is confirmed in the quotation. The layflat's flat-when-empty format is the dewatering crew's convenience: long delivery runs roll out fast, drain, and roll back onto the truck.
The facts a dewatering enquiry carries
- Pump facts: inlet and outlet sizes and the pump's pressure — the set is built around the pump, not around a hose size in the abstract.
- Lift and run: how far below the pump the water sits and how far it is carried away; lift decides the intake discipline, run length decides the delivery metres.
- The water itself: clean, silty or debris-laden — debris argues for the intake arrangement and any strainer to be settled in the same conversation.
- Couplings at both ends: camlock or flange at the pump, and what the delivery end meets — the couplings line is quoted in the same enquiry so sizes chain.
- Volume and pattern of work: one site or a hire fleet's standing set — quantities per size decide the minimums that apply, stated per family in the quotation.
The range also covers the neighbouring duties this set touches: flood response and water transfer sit in the layflat family's recorded applications, and the irrigation and drainage page covers the agricultural form of the same pairing. For dewatering proper, the enquiry that works is the one that arrives as a set — pump, lift, run, water, couplings — because every figure in the answer depends on at least two of those facts.
What size dewatering hose do I need?
State the pump model or its inlet and outlet sizes in the enquiry, together with the lift and the run, and ask for both halves — intake bore and delivery bore — to be confirmed against them in the quotation.
Can one hose do both sides?
The intake side needs a construction that holds vacuum, and layflat collapses under suction. The steel wire hose is listed for suction and delivery together; if one hose must do both sides of your pump, raise that build in the enquiry and have it confirmed for the whole run.
How much hose comes on a roll?
Published roll lengths differ by family: 10 m to 30 m for the suction family (suction family range; the lengths offered for your bore are confirmed in the quotation), 30 m to 100 m for the layflat family (layflat family range; the lengths offered for your bore are confirmed in the quotation). State the run lengths your sites need and the quotation answers per size.
Request a Quotation
Send the hose family, bore size, working pressure, length per roll and total quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the written quotation for your exact specification. If the hose will be supplied as a finished assembly, name the coupling standard you need (for example camlock type and size, flange or thread) — or state that you need bare hose only.
